About Reiki

Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a safe, gentle, non-invasive holistic energy healing system that yields powerful results for healing and restoring balance to the body as a whole. When using Reiki to heal, the practitioner channels healing energy through his/her hands to the animal either directly or from a distance. Animals respond intuitively to Reiki’s power to heal emotional, behavioral, and physical illnesses and injuries.

Reiki is an effective form of complementary healing and when used alongside veterinary treatments such as acupuncture, acupressure, massage, and physical therapy can accelerate the healing process, ease pain, and improve, or help to continue, the animal's quality of life.

What To Expect

In the initial visit with a certified Reiki Practitioner, the medical history is reviewed and the number of follow-up visits is discussed. The session in the clinic begins a short distance from the animal rather than direct. This helps to build up trust and gives the animal the opportunity to feel the healing energy. Once the trust is given, the Reiki Practitioner will start to touch the animal’s body.

Not all animals willingly accept Reiki and it will never be forced upon them. The session may be stopped at the discretion of the practitioner.

Benefits include but are not limited to: Decreases pain, provides comfort, and decreases stress and anxiety, which triggers the bodies natural healing abilities, and improves and maintains health.
